Book Details
Discover Sacred Remnants by Charles Freyberg, a vivid poetry collection weaving the vibrant spirit of Sydney's Kings Cross with profound reflections on identity, love, and history. Freyberg's poems bring to life a kaleidoscope of mavericks—queers, queens, bohemians, and burlesque artists—against the backdrop of a disappearing bohemian enclave. The collection also offers a powerful reckoning with colonial legacies, exploring the author's family history and the erasure of First Nations cultures in Queensland. From intimate portraits of beloved friends to evocative landscapes of sacred land, Sacred Remnants channels resilience, transformation, and memory with lyrical intensity. Dive into a world where past and present converge, and where the sacred persists in people, places, and stories. A must-read for lovers of poetry that challenges, enchants, and heal.
