Author Description

Russell Ricks was born into a family bursting with creative energy. During his lifelong career as a visual artist, his artwork has been collected throughout the United States. From September through October 2015, Russell hung a large body of his artwork at the prestigious Springville Museum of Art as part of the Passages and Pathways exhibit. He is also well known for his monumental indoor art murals. His murals grace the walls of major corporations such as Cabela's, Novatek, and Alcoa, Inc. Russell married Karen LaRee Samuelson on November 26, 1999. They formed a blended family with seven sons and seven daughters. Russell has four daughters and three sons, and Karen has four sons and three daughters. Russell and Karen have twenty-five grandchildren and counting. From 1977 to 1979, Russell served a proselyting mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Oakland and Sacramento Missions. He has also served in various callings within the LDS Church. Russell's hobbies include hiking, horseback riding, camping, gathering reference material for future paintings, traveling to new places, and, now, writing.
