Author Description

Sherrie Anthony was born and raised in Salt Lake City. She entered the mission home two hours late because she was marching in her graduation ceremony from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree. In December 1975, she completed a mission to the Hawaii Honolulu Mission and, seven weeks later, married her best friend who had "progressed" while waiting for her to serve a mission. When the youngest of their five child turned eighteen, Sherrie pursued a desire to teach seminary. That desire had been placed in her heart when she taught early morning seminary as a newlywed for a short time in Houston, Texas. The process to become a full-time teacher was grueling, but the Lord opened doors that previously had been shut and she was hired. After teaching twelve years, she and her husband retired and are currently serving as full-time CES missionaries in the Washington, DC, North Mission. Sherrie and Dave are the grandparents of sixteen grandchildren.
