Book Details

CHRISTINE HARRISON wants nothing more than to marry a man of good standing and wealth—and to achieve this goal, she has been collecting useful acquaintances for years. Her strategic social navigation seems to have paid off in the form of one Mr. Oliver Davenport. Their relationship has been building steadily, and she is sure a proposal cannot be far off.
But when Christine and her friends travel to Cassfield Manor to secure their futures, a pair of brothers enter the scene and threaten to disrupt Christine's perfect plans. Their arrival brings to light more than Christine could have ever expected—haunting pasts, blackmail, unpaid debts, dangerous circumstances, and secrets that will one day affect them all. As plots are revealed, Christine must learn to see beyond wealth and status and instead look for love with her own heart. But can the man who loves her most realize how much he cares for her before it's too late?

Author Description

From writing an award-wining tale about a dragon in third grade to regency romance written as an adult, Sarah McConkie has always had a passion for creating captivating stories. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Music from Brigham Young University, Sarah continued to endure years of singledom, looking for romance, and started a master's degree in literacy. While pursuing her master's, she finally found her true love and became a wife and eventually a mother. Using her years of experience in the single realm, a robust knowledge of regency classics, and a love of all things old-fashioned and proper, Sarah wrote her debut novel, Love and Secrets at Cassfield Manor. She now lives with her own Mr. Right and her three children and believes providing stimulating and moral stories promotes literacy in a world that needs more readers.
