Author Description

Dr. John David Lamb retired in 2014 as Eliot A. Butler Professor of Chemistry after 36 years at Brigham Young University. He served as editor-in-chief of a major scientific journal and as BYU Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education. He was recipient of many of BYU's top honors for teaching and research, including its highest faculty award, the Maeser Distinguished Faculty Lectureship. He was a visiting lecturer at universities in Italy, Germany, and China. He was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and chair of the LDS Priesthood Manuals Writing Committee and is a visual artist whose works have been displayed in juried art exhibits. He and his wife, Betty, have six sons and eleven grandchildren.
