Book Details

Roberta Mezzabarba's words soar through the air with the lightness of a dragonfly, reaching the blueness of the sky by tearing through the clouds, and return to earth leaving a sensation of Latin 'levitas'. "In the Uncertain Hour Before the Morning" is a collection of 52 poems that follows the development of the soul over the course of a year, interpreting its ever-shifting sensations and impressions as it seeks to establish a connection between the events that disturb and change our lives. Roberta manages to reach the reader with direct verses that never get lost in futile philosophical musings on the weight of living. The engagement is all encompassing as the images, not devoid of a profound capacity for reflection, construct a complete sensory experience, as clear as the freshly watercoloured sketch of a painter.
