Book Details

The title Beneath Quiet Skies evokes a space where silence speaks as profoundly as words. It suggests a world where the calm of the sky holds unspoken stories, hidden struggles, and gentle beauty. Beneath its stillness lie the rhythms of nature, the pulse of human emotions, and the truths often overlooked in the noise of life. The phrase mirrors the author's sensibility—rooted in nature, yet deeply aware of the quiet but urgent voices of human experience.

Author Description

Born in 1963, Joita Ganguly is a postgraduate in English Literature whose formative years were spent amidst the tea gardens of Darjeeling and the Dooars. Growing up in a home nurtured by nature-loving and socially conscious parents, she imbibed a deep sensitivity to both the beauty of the natural world and the injustices within society. This dual influence has shaped her voice—tender toward the environment, yet unflinching in speaking out against social wrongs. A dedicated teacher in a Higher Secondary Girls' School, Joita has been a consistent and passionate voice against the abuse and exploitation of girls. Her writings often weave together the verdant landscapes of her childhood with a strong undercurrent of empathy and advocacy. A true nature lover, she believes that the rhythms of the earth and the dignity of every human being deserve equal respect and protection.
