Králíci jsou třetím nejoblíbenějším domácím mazlíčkem na západě a jejich obliba roste i ve zbytku světa. Cílem této knihy je poradit budoucím majitelům, jak si vybrat, koupit a starat se o domácího králíka. Říká se, a i já jsem zjistil, že je to pravda, králíci jsou přibližně stejně inteligentní jako průměrná kočka nebo pes. Žijí také přibližně stejně dlouho, ale jsou méně nároční a snadněji se krmí. Jsou vlastně ideální pro lidi, kteří nemohou moc chodit ven nebo nechtějí mít v lednici či dokonce v domě maso, protože jsou stoprocentní vegetariáni! Pokud toho o králících moc nevíte, mohli byste si s prominutím myslet, že je králík jako králík, ale ve skutečnosti existuje 370 tříd králíků (podle britských a amerických králičích organizací) a pocházejí ze 70 různých zemí. Existuje tedy velký výběr velikostí a barev. Nejen to, majitelé vám také řeknou, že každý králík má svou vlastní osobnost, podobně jako kočka nebo pes. Obecně však můžeme říci, že králíci jsou učenliví, klidní a přátelští a nemají rádi hrubé zacházení nebo hru. Králíci jsou také třetím nejoblíbenějším domácím mazlíčkem ve Velké Británii a čtvrtým v USA a třetím nejoblíbenějším u všech věkových skupin od dvanácti let výše. Jste tedy v dobré společnosti.
Owen Jones, Amazon Best-Selling Author from Barry, Wales, has lived in several countries and travelled in many more.
