Author Description

Steve Shaffer was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 12, 1947. He is married to Bonnie Peay and together they have ten children.Steve has spent a great deal of his life in the mountains and deserts of the west in an attempt to trace the steps of the ancient inhabitants that once roamed the land.His education spans several decades. He has a bachelor of science degree a master of arts degree and a graduation diploma from the North American School of Conservation. He has authored several books including sections on Spanish symbols documentation and ancient symbols identification. Shaffer is considered by most as the expert in Spanish symbols identification. He also was instrumental in the transliteration of the Chalk Creek hieroglyphic panel east of Fillmore, Utah. He has appeared in several documentaries such as Tops of the Mountains, an Illustrated History of Utah; National Geographic EXPLORER; The Secret History of Gold; and others now pending release. He has lectured extensively and is sought after by many groups for his knowledge in his field of expertise.
