In the early 1900's, in a small Midwestern village, local townsfolk were terrorized by uncontrolled violence. Those responsible for law enforcement either turned in their badges or disappeared. A set of unusual circumstance brought Charlie Witwer and his three brothers to the village to make the streets safe. This story is inspired by actual events and tells how the lives of those involved were forever changed.
The author came from an environment of poverty with little education and eventually became president of an insurance company. He became interested in his family heritage and discovered many facts about his ancestors, thus the book was born.
