Author Description

Diane E. Wirth received a BA in art from Brigham Young University and was a special post-graduate student at Harvard University. She has written several books, notably, A Challenge to the Critics: Scholarly Evidences of the Book of Mormon (Horizon Publishers, 1986) and Parallels: Mesoamerican and Ancient Middle Eastern Traditions (Stonecliff Publishing, 2003). Many of her articles have been published by the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies at BYU and by Ancient American magazine. A worldwide traveler, she has concentrated on the ancient sites in Mexico/Central America and the Middle East, and has studied their art, religion, and traditions. Having lived in the states of Illinois, California, Colorado, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, she and her husband retired in St. George, Utah. They have two sons and five grandchildren. Sister Wirth has given over fifty presentations at LDS firesides and archaeological symposiums. Diane is also involved in genealogy and serves as a Family History Consultant.
