The Evolution of Government and Politics: France provides an opportunity to explore the government and political structure of France and how the nation s government evolved and changed through history. This book discusses issues such as constitutional changes, world wars, political parties, socialism, and other historical events. The young reader is encouraged to analyze past events and draw conclusions about how outside factors modified France s political system and world influence. The France title has been developed to address many of the Common Core specific goals, higher level thinking skills, and progressive learning strategies from informational texts for middle grade and junior high level students.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, John Bankston began writing professionally while still a teenager. Since then, over two hundred of his articles have been published in magazines and newspapers across the country, including travel articles in The Tallahassee Democrat, The Orlando Sentinel and The Tallahassean. He is the author of over 175 books for young adults, including works on Alexander the Great, scientist Stephen Hawking, actor Jodi Foster, and authors including Katherine Paterson, Ray Bradbury and F. Scott Fitzgerald. His young adult trilogy, The Academy, was published in August. He lives in Huntington Beach, California with his rescue dog.
