Author Description

Chef Stephanie Petersen, also known as Chef Tess Bakeresse, is a full-time corporate chef and cooking instructor in Phoenix, Arizona. Stephanie is classically trained in pastry, having graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute (Arizona) in 1995. Stephanie is famous for her energy of spirit and bubbly personality. She worked in resort bakeshops as an assistant banquet chef and as a fruit and vegetable display artist. When she became a mother fifteen years ago, she set aside her work in the restaurant industry and focused full-time on her children.Driven by a passion to create, she continued baking decorative edible breads for private events. To any mother with young children, the need to do something creative is very real. At the urging of a dear friend, she started a food blog called Chef Tess Bakeresse. Within six months of starting her blog, Stephanie was published internationally in Australian Baking Business magazine for her bread artistry. She was propelled toward a career in bread art and instruction. Stephanie has taught large group and personal cooking instruction for the last eight years. For the last four years, Stephanie has been a frequent TV guest chef and "idea extraordinaire" in Arizona and Utah with a national following. She also enjoys frequent visits to the local radio stations to participate in weekly radio shows. Her passion for art and food make an amazing impact on all who have come to know her work. She is in every way a down-to-earth gal who adores teaching with a lighthearted whit, laughing, loving, and connecting with new people every day. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband and two children and is very involved in church and community. In her free time she can be found curled up with a good cookbook, baking with her children, going on long walks in the desert, and singing.
