    This is the best book I have ever read on culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. I believe it is a must read for every educator in the United States and Canada, whether they teach students of color or not. The protocols, attention signals, activities and language information is practical--it works. If you're looking to engage students, help close the achievement gap, or just become more culturally aware, pick it up.
