Reviews the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and environmental risk factors for atopic dermatitis. The clinical presentation of the condition and the differential diagnosis, disease severity scales, and appropriate focus of the evaluation are presented. Atopic dermatitis is often accompanied by serious co-morbidities, delineated in the book, which are important for the clinical to understand when formulating a treatment plan. Topical therapy, phototherapy, oral systemic, and biologic therapy are presented in separate chapters along with the clinical trial results of the various agents used in treatment.
